How to claim your NZ charitable donation tax rebate: When you file your individual tax return with IRD (or use myIR), enter your total charitable donations under "Donations Tax Credit." We issue a receipt for every donation — keep it for your records. Donations must be $5 or more to a Charities Register-listed organisation. The rebate is 33.33% of your donations, up to your taxable income for the year. Corporate donors can deduct charitable donations from their taxable income.
