Child Safety & Wellbeing Protocols
What This Symbol Represents
This symbol reflects our promise to keep every tamaiti safe, supported, and valued.
The twelve figures represent our twelve Child Safety & Wellbeing Protocols — each one a vital part of creating a protective, predictable, neurodiversity‑affirming environment. The circle shows unity and shared responsibility, and the infinity symbol at the centre represents our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, continuous improvement, and the limitless potential of every child in our care.
Our 12 Protocols
Tamariki Safety Comes First
Every decision, action, and environment must prioritise the physical, emotional, and cultural safety of children, as required under the Children’s Act.
Neurodiversity‑Affirming Practice
We support each child’s sensory needs, communication style, and regulation profile. No child is expected to mask or “fit in” to neurotypical expectations.
Recognising and Responding to Harm
All staff are trained to identify signs of abuse, neglect, or unsafe behaviour, and follow clear reporting pathways consistent with Oranga Tamariki guidance.
